Hawthorn Hair Salon
Our office was commissioned to provide concepts for a Hair Salon in Hawthorn. The owner’s brief was to create a feature wall that celebrates the eclectic, studio culture of the salon while concealing an otherwise non-descript and messy wall. A sterile, minimalist aesthetic was to be avoided. Our solution was to create a series of jumbled boxes that straddle existing services and openings. Drawing on inspiration from one of our favourite Australian artists, Rosalie Gascoigne, the name of the salon was then deconstructed and placed in a fragmented form across the boxes.
